St James' Park.

Once again Newcastle united in the news again for all the wrong reasons. The world famous stadium St James' Park was striped of the name and turned into The sports direct arena. Apart from the horrible name he has also took away a lot of history from the club.

As you can imagine this didn't go down well with the Geordie faithful with the fans once again unhappy with Mike Ashley's decisions at the club.

In 09/10 season Mike Ashley sold the naming rights to name of the stadium, the same year the toon where in the championship. Things started to look up for Newcastle with promotion and winning the championship.

The 10/11 season started well with chris houghton taking the club at christmas but shortly after left the club for reason people still don't undertsand why. The january transfer window didn't turn out well with star striker andy carrol being sold on the last day of the window for a record 35 million pounds. The season end with Newcastle finish 12th.

Mike ashley said after we sold andy Carroll that we would see the 35 million did we ? No we didn't. We saw the departure of captain kevin Nolan and star left back Jose Enrique leave St James' park for 5 and 6 million and then joey Barton leave on a free transfer. We did see the arrival of Yohan Cabaye for around 5 million and Obertan for around 4 million pounds and that was the most we saw of the 35 million.

So far Newcastle are unbeaten in the premier league and things were going really well on Tyneside until that man again mike Ashley decided to stir things up by selling the naming rights to the stadium to the sports direct arena. I don't think you can fit any more sports direct logos on the stadium even if you tried.
