Newcastle V Chelsea.

The game started off well for Newcastle with Demba Ba getting through on a pass made to him only to be stopped by last man david Luiz, who only got a yellow card for him clumsy challenge which denied Ba maybe an other goal to add to his tally. Chelsea stretched the Newcastle left back position with Daniel Sturridge getting past far to easily but not being able to beat Tim Krul of Newcastle post, Sturridge, also forcing a penalty from Yohan Cabaye but Frank Lampard couldn't put chelsea into the lead from another great stop from Tim Krul. Newcastle created to good goal scoring opportunities only to be stopped by the chelsea post on Petr Cech. The chelsea goal coming just before half time was an interesting on from the newcastle faithful with a throw in though to be wrongly given but the quick thinking from Juan Mata putting in a cross for Didier Drogba to head the blues into the lead just before half time.

The second half newcastle made many good goal scoring opportunities to level the score line but couldn't beat that man again Petr Cech and that chelsea cross bar and when they did beat both from a Sammy Ameobi volley John Terry was waiting on the line to stop the equaliser. Chelsea tried though out the second half to add to there one goal lead and sadly didn't manage to do so until the 89th minute with Salomon Kalou getting the second and shortly after Daniel Sturridge managed to beat Tim Krul making the final score 0-3 to the visitors.

Apart from the football Newcastle United made respects to Gary Speed who sadly left the world of football. The 42 year made 213 appearances for the club scoring 29 goals which is impressive and it wasn't just his performance on the pitch off the pitch he was known as a good guy and a real icon in the game of football. It come to more of a shock as he was currently manager of the wales national team and was slowly bringing some good to the country.

R.I.P. Gary Speed 1969 - 2011
